Formed in the fall of 2020 as a lockdown project, ‘Places’ is the impressive debut single by Aizawl-based band Sol Sundae.
The multi-genre project draws inspiration from 70s soul, neo-soul, funk, hip-hop and R&B and artists like Vulfpeck and D’Angelo. The use of organ in particular, along with the guitars and piano and the smooth and soulful vocals, make ‘Places’ a compelling listen.
Safe to say, Sol Sundae put themselves effectively on our radar through their debut offering, and we now look forward to more music from the band from Mizoram. The band claims to be working on its debut EP at the moment, and hopes to release it by the end of this year.
